Little Gain, but No Setback

That's right. I gained a pound back. It's OK though. I can pick up and carry on from there. It's only a little gain so I'm not counting it as a setback. This just shows that I need to up things a little to keep losing. Tomorrow I am going to reevaluate my step goal and probably up it. I did lose 2" on my waist which was awesome!!

My belly is finally blocked by the view of my chest which is also awesome. I am generally feeling better although today my energy is sapped. I think I might need to do a quick workout in the morning tomorrow and rest for most of the day. Well I gotta head off. Just too exhausted to type too much.

Nervous about Tomorrow

So I'm nervous about tomorrow since I weigh in. I'm going to do it for sure. I want to check what progress I've made in that area. I have noticed a difference in my stomach though. My chest finally blocks my stomach from view! I was pretty excited when I realized this. It prompted me to try on some shirts that I hadn't been quite comfortable in and realized I went down from a XXXL to a XXL. Not a big jump but still a good one!

My next goal is to be able to fit into size 22 pants. I have some from before that are pretty cute that I'm excited to be able to wear. I did have a soda today since I needed the caffeine badly and hadn't had one in a bit. It was the last caffeinated one we had. Even though today was a rest day I did get my steps. I did quite a bit more reading too which is always nice.

Gardening in the Sun

Today was pretty sunny so this morning for my workout I went out to my garden and pulled weeds for 20 minutes. It maybe wasn't the hardest workout, but it was still a good one and got some much needed weeding done. Other than that it was a pretty normal day. When I went to water the lawn we found out that the sprinkler is broken which sucks.

It means one of our neighbors broke it while detaching it despite the fact we have it worked out to where they aren't supposed to do anything with it. I understand that it's an accident, but that was an expensive sprinkler and was only a few months old. At least the hose is still good. We will just have to replace the sprinkler.

I got my steps in. Tomorrow is a rest day which will be nice. I am hoping I am over this cold soon so that I can start going back over to my sister's place and workout with her and my mom. Well that's all for tonight.

Lots of Rain and Reading

So today rained a lot in Northern Utah. It's still raining as I write this. It's nice because we need it badly. I just hope it's helping the firefighters and not creating more issues. I worked out this morning to a pretty good Youtube workout. I am up to 20 minute workouts. I had to go a little slower though because of this cold. It's settling into my chest. I hope I'm over it soon, but I think the smoke and stuff in the air lately has helped to keep it in my system.

I started reading In Defense of the Princess by Jerramy Fine. I've only read the first chapter so far, but it's super interesting. I've also started reading The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald too. I'm not enjoying it as much as In Defense of the Princess though. Other than a lot of reading and rain there hasn't been much else going on here.

I did get my steps today even though I didn't go on a walk today because of the rain. With a small snack I'll make my calorie range today too. I am going to look up how to do a sugar scrub for my face to see if that helps with some dry skin issues I'm having. I will update you all when I do it.

Car Troubles and Rain

So today we went to go get the car looked at again. That tire was still leaking air even though I took it yesterday morning. We thought they fixed it, but when Husband went back out to Uber again the tire was still losing pressure. So we took it back and found out it was leaking around the patch. That means we need a new tire. We can't quite afford it right now so we are going to keep a close eye on it.

It's been pretty rainy this afternoon too which is nice because we need it here in Utah. I did take a nice walk around the entire block and only got slightly winded. So I'm getting better. I got my steps long before my walk though. I am under my calories again today, but I don't feel hungry so I'm not too worried. If I get hungry I can get myself a little snack or something.

My big orange female cat (Michonne) just attacked my phone. She was laying on it when an alarm went off so she freaked out and attacked it until it fell to the floor. Good thing I have a phone case lol. Well that's all for me today.

Head Cold, but Trying

So I've come down with a bit of a head cold that only seems to be getting worse right now. However, I'm not letting that stop me. I'm keeping at the journey and not slipping back into old habits. I am taking it quite easier. No hard workouts, but plenty of walking and healthy eating. I am making sure I stay extra hydrated too.

I have a fairly messed up immune system and seem to get sick easy so this will be a common problem on my journey. I'm glad I am facing it so early in the journey so that I can get a good handle on how to take care of it and what to do during my various levels of sickness.

I did have  a soda the other day. I hadn't had a soda for a while and wanted to treat myself by having one. I didn't get my steps today though because I'm starting to wheeze and cough with a lot of movement. It doesn't help that there is a lot of smoke in the area I live at and I have asthma.

My car is having some problems with the back driver's side tire. It keeps getting nails in it. I went and got it fixed Friday. They fixed it, but we had issues again. I took it today to get it fixed again and they took another nail out and plugged it. Husband took the car out today to Uber and it was leaking again. So now we have to get up early to take it to the dealership to have it dealt with and he is going to handle it.

Low Key Day

So today was pretty low key. I didn't do too much. I went over to my sister's and worked out with her. I ended up taking a nap today, because I've been waking up at around 6 am. It sucks. I think I might take a sleep aid today to at least allow me to sleep in a little. Other than that it was a normal day.

I did weight in though!! And I've lost two pounds!! Super happy about that. I did all my other measurements too and for the most part they all went down. My calves went up but that's because they are pure muscle surprisingly. My upper arm didn't change either this time but I carry most of my weight in my middle not my arms and legs really.


The one I was most excited to see go down was my hips by a whole inch. I though that was pretty great but at the same time I worry that I'm losing my butt and I won't look as good after all the weight is gone. Oh well that's not something I can control. My body will lose the fat where it wants to.

My waist to hip ratio went up and I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not. I'll have to research it and find out later. Pretty happy about the results so far. I need to take a full body picture of me currently before I lose too much more weight. There aren't any of me recently.

DVD Workout and Swimming

Today was pretty normal. I went to my mom's and sister's place and did a workout from Walk Away the Pounds. It was a pretty easy workout. I figured they would want something a little more gentle today. Tomorrow will be a rest day, but they are planning on going swimming. We did go swimming today as well after my niece got back from her first day of school.

She's pretty smart so I'm sure she will do well in school. I got my steps in today as well. I have been having some concerns about the amount of weight I have to lose and the extra skin I may have. I hope I don't have much if any, but I am trying to come to terms with the fact that I might have to deal with having at least some extra.

Losing almost 100 pounds is a massive transformation and I know some days are going to be hard. I'm trying really hard today to not let this fear stop me, but it's hard. I'm not going to give up though. I know once I get there I won't regret it. Well that's all tonight.

Workout Schedule

So I finally figured out my workout schedule. I know a little late, but at least I'm getting one set up.

Sunday: Strength
Monday: Cardio
Tuesday: Rest
Wednesday: Strength
Thursday: Other
Friday: Rest
Sat: Cardio

So that gives me a good balance of 2 rest days, 2 strength days, and 2 cardio. The other is for me to pick another activity to do that day such as swimming, yoga, tai chi, etc. I will still be getting my steps on rest days. Well that's all for now.

Rest Day then Back at it

So I took a rest day yesterday. Monday was just a touch too much then Tuesday I ended up doing a little more running around than I had planned. So the rest of the day I took as a rest day, but still walked and got my steps in.

Today I upped my step goal from 2000 to 3000. Each week I meet a goal I'll up it. I got my steps today too which wasn't that hard since I usually get at least 3000. I am getting back into selling Avon. I'm excited for it and there are new tools that will make it easier for me. Right now I need to be active for 10 more minutes and eat at least 1269 calories.

I read a lot today which was nice. I read more today than I normally do which made it even nicer. I'm working out a schedule for my workouts which will help me know what to do what days type thing. Once I get it sorted out I'll post it here.

Emotionally Stressful Day

Today wasn't too bad, but it was emotionally exhausting. I helped my mom with some of her errands then I helped my sister with one of hers. They took a while longer to do than I thought they would, but they weren't too bad. Just for some reason I was emotionally exhausted after. I am way under my calorie range for today because I ended up taking a pretty long nap this afternoon to recharge.

I got my steps, but I forgot to weigh in and Mondays are my weigh in days. I did do a workout with my mom and sister today though which was nice. I'm going to be over there tomorrow for another one if I feel up to it. Tomorrow may be a rest day for me. Right now I just feel drained and exhausted. I will probably be going to be soon after I try to eat at least a small snack. At the moment I sit 1176 calories below my range. I probably won't hit my range. Well that's all for tonight.

Had Some Girl Time

So today was pretty uneventful until after Husband went out to Uber. I was just starting a great youtube workout when Mom called. She was wanting to borrow a few things for dinner that night and I told her to come over and get them. She is working on losing weight as well and we got to talking about that. I ended up going over to their place and we both went swimming for an hour.

So today I got a lot of exercise in. We made a plan that I'm gonna start going over there in the morning and doing a workout with her and Sister. My sister, mom, niece, brother-in-law, and my mom's boyfriend. So tomorrow after I take my mom to run her errands we are gonna do a workout. I doubt we will swim again just because I need wash my suit now.

This is going to be my first morning workout. I'm actually kind of excited to do it with them. I hope that they are too. I am currently under my calorie range by 441 calories, but I will probably have a small snack before bed so that I can sleep through the night comfortably. Oh I did get my steps.

Happy Day

So today I was pretty excited about my weight. I also measured myself today to check what kind of progress I had made in that area. All those numbers went down. It was a pretty awesome feeling. I tried on some pants today that were too small before. They were 2 sizes smaller than what I was wearing, but I can wear them comfortably! I was so happy to see that. It means I'm getting closer even though it's only been a little bit.

I got my steps and then some. I was actually within my calorie range today and feel pretty good about it. I noticed that when I'm playing Pokemon Go I don't walk as fast. That's not a problem really, but it is at the same time. I'm wanting to get healthy and right now I want to focus on my walking so I'm putting a little pause on Pokemon right now.

Well I'm headed off to finish my water and continue watching the show Husband and I were watching.

!!!FIRST GOAL REACHED!!!

I reached my first weight goal today! I broke down and weighed myself early. I couldn't help it. When I did though the scale read 260.2! These last two weeks have been pretty easy and I count my blessings with that.

Reaching my first goal today was liberating. Usually by now I've quit and nothing's changed. I stuck with it this time and it's actually working really well. I do dread that inevitable wall when the pounds just are refusing to leave. It will be hard and it scares me, but I think with all my friends and family supporting me as I go through this it won't be as bad and I realize I'm a little less scared.

Thank you all for your support and love! Each of you mean so much to me being my cheerleaders in all this.

First Strength Workout

So today I woke up pretty early again. Not sure why I can't sleep in past 7ish. Today was pretty uneventful. The only difference was today instead of doing a cardio workout I did a strength training video. It was only 10 minutes long, but I felt pretty good after. It was a little difficult for me to do, but as I do it more I'll get better.

Other than that it was a run of the mill day. I am below my calories range again...I'm not sure about that. I'm only eating when I'm hungry. I am drinking a full bottle of water before each meal too. I do that to make sure I'm not just misinterpreting being thirsty for being hungry. A lot of what I am reading states that it's common for people losing weight to think thirst is hunger.

Another Satisfying Day

So today was pretty good. I took it pretty easy, but still managed to get in a really great workout for 25 minutes. Ended up burning just over 300 calories there alone. I also connected my Fitbit to my SparkPeople account and it added my steps in and a walk I forgot to log in earlier so I ended up burning another 384 calories right there.

Even as of right now at 10 PM I am still 107 calories below my calorie range for the day. I guess that makes up for going over yesterday lol. I got my steps and I'm about to get the last of my water in then finish my movie and probably go to bed.

I woke up at 630 this morning though. I've been doing that lately with me going to be at about 1030 after I blog. Maybe I'll have to stay up a little later to sleep in a little later. I don't mind getting up so early, but at that time there isn't much for me to do. I guess if I keep getting up that early I'll have to start creating things for me to do lol.

Because I was so far under my goal at dinner time (over 900 calories) I had a soda after so I'll be starting that streak over again, but 3 days isn't a bad start. It's my longest streak yet. I'm excited to weigh in and it's been really hard to not weigh in. I've not measured myself either since SparkPeople says to do that once a month. I'm excited to see what kind of progress I've made.

I do feel better already. I feel like I'm sleeping better and have more energy. If this is what 5 pounds feels like I can only imagine how I'll feel as I keep making better and better decisions. I am also very glad that I've been able to stay motivated this long. Trust me this is an unusual feat for me. I did slack on my chores a bit today so I will have to work double tomorrow, but that's fine I wanted a kind of lazy day.

Great Day and Right on Track!!!

Today was a pretty great day. I weeded the garden for a total of 42 minutes, did the dishes, and made dinner. Pretty awesome day! My garden is looking a lot better. Still needs some work, but not as much as it did this morning. Dinner was amazing. I made a pasta bake that I made up completely on my own.

I was pretty proud of it. Husband loved it too! That's always a good sign. He even went back for seconds. So I guess it wasn't too bad. Pretty simple day, but I managed to stay under my calorie goal. I have a calorie range and I still need 147 more calories to be in the range so I was thinking of maybe having a glass of milk or something to top off my night.

Pretty simple day but still felt like a great one.

Super Productive and Feeling Great!!!

So today was pretty productive. I did some laundry (washing all the bedding), did some dishes, worked out, and went on a nice 7 minute walk. It doesn't sound like much, but to my poor untrained body it is. My legs are sore already today. Tomorrow I may just have to do some stretches as my workout.

I did go over my calorie goal by 193, but I'm not too bummed out about that since I'm feeling better already. I can tell it's getting a little easier. Each time I do something I get a little better and my routine is becoming a really great part of my day.

I didn't drink any soda today! So that's amazing! I'm still pretty pumped about all this and I'm learning a lot. I spend an hour or so just reading articles on SparkPeople to learn all that I can about health and weight loss. I'll try to do better tomorrow about my calories. I need more veggies tomorrow instead of the peanuts I ate today. Lesson learned.

Another quick update

Well here it is closer to ending another day that I feel went extremely well. I had a few slip ups this last week (not all that I blogged about). However, it was my first week and I saw almost 5 lbs gone! I count that as a major success!

So today I did another YouTube workout. Pretty hard, but it's fun and I'm excited to see how I progress each time I do it. Tomorrow I am going to look at some dancing videos to try that as my workout. I'm excited to try a new video. I don't feel sore at all right now, but I am confident that I did a good workout all the same.

Stressful, but Great Weekend

So this last weekend the Husband and I went to Stanly, ID for his family reunion. We decided to take our kayaks so that my brother-in-law wouldn't have to at least rent any kayaks. We had bought these $200 racks to go on the car to hold them. We paid about $300 for the kayaks themselves and like another $100 for the carrier pieces.

We're going 80 MPH down the highway (where that was the speed limit lol). We came out from under an overpass and big rig truck blew past us. All the different air pressures and currents blew the kayaks, holder, and racks right off the top off my car while I was driving. So here we are pulled over running across the highway to get all our stuff so no one can run it over and get hurt.

The racks are garbage so they just go in the back seat and two of our four straps broke so they go in there too. We get it strapped down with just the two straps and I get back up to speed going about 60 this time and they blow off again (on their own). Now this area we were in was have 40+ mph gusts of wind which did not help.

So here we are again running after these kayaks. We were already upset at the loss of the racks themselves we were not about to lose our $300 kayaks too. We finally get them on there to where they will stay and we make it to Idaho. The next truck stop we see we stop and get more straps. So by the time we got to Stanley (2+ hours after we should have when we left that morning) we still have the kayaks and it's late.

Once we were there though it was a lot of fun. We went to the lake Saturday and saw most of my bother-in-law's kids and most of Husband's kids. It was really awesome to see them and the grand-kids. We had loads of fun ate some great food. Sunday was much better because at this point we knew how to attach these things so they weren't going anywhere. We didn't go above 70 the way home, but they didn't move and we got them home in one piece.

NOW on to the weight stuff! I weighed myself this morning and I'm down to 264.2! That means I am down 4.8 lbs!!!!! I'm so happy when I saw this morning I figured I'd blog early about it. I may blog again tonight, but it will be shorter with my streaks information.

Rough day

So this morning started out just like normal. I was excited even though I was going to take it easy since I was hurting so bad. Just after noon my mom called and needed a ride up to SLC. That was OK. A long ride, but not bad. We came home for a bit and cleaned up the grill we will be taking this weekend. After that we decided we might go swimming at my sister's.

We get headed over there and my swim top is bugging me and pinching. I've gained too much weight for it come to find out and it kept making my arm numb. So the Husband says that we will just go get me a new one that fits.

This seemed like a great idea. This weekend we will be going up to Idaho for a family reunion and will be in the water for the most part of Saturday. So a swim top that fits would be great. We go to Wal-Mart and they don't have anything that will fit. We got to TJ Maxx and Ross and same thing. We go to the mall and look at a maternity store and they didn't have one. They suggested Torrid so we go there and they still didn't have one that I didn't have issues with.

So we headed back to Wal-Mart thinking if I get a good sports bra I can use it the one day for playing the water. Couldn't find anything there. We still needed to get shoes for this weekend since we will be outside a lot. At this point my feet had swollen so all the shoes that should have fit me were tight.

So here I am after 3+ hours of trying on swim wear that wouldn't fit even close I am sitting on one of those benches in the shoes section trying to force my swollen foot into a shoe losing all hope. I ended up crying in the aisle. I felt ashamed. Here I am a grown woman crying because she can't find shoes to feet my fat feet.

Husband, the great guy that he is, helped me calm down enough that we found some that fit even with my swollen feet, but will fit when they aren't swollen too. He made sure I didn't get just the cheapest ones because I was fed up at this point. He helped me to find some that are actually really comfy.

So today was just not a good day for me. Tomorrow will be better I hope.
